What happens after giving notice of intention to transfer?

After you give notice of intention to transfer, your current fostering agency will acknowledge that you are considering moving to another agency.

With your explicit consent, the agency you wish to join will arrange access to your fostering records with your current agency. Reviewing these records helps the new agency understand your experience and informs its assessment.

If a child is placed with you, the proposed transfer also involves the professionals responsible for their care. A protocol meeting provides an opportunity to discuss the child’s needs and the arrangements for the transfer.

Notifying your agency that you intend to transfer is different from submitting your formal resignation. Discuss the timing of any resignation with the agency you wish to join.
