Will I have to do lots of training as a foster carer?

Fostering children is considered to be a professional role. As part of the professional team around a child, you will be expected to undertake development that enables you to be the best you can be. We have a therapeutic approach to our fostering and support you to gain an understanding of different approaches and build confidence in your ability as a foster carer. Before you can foster, you will need to complete essential foster carer training, including safeguarding, paediatric first aid and the “Skills to Foster” course. As you progress as a foster carer, we take every care to ensure that you can access development in a way that suits you best.
