Am I free to transfer once the Agency Decision Maker has said yes to approval?
To complete a fostering transfer, the end of your approval with your current agency and the start of your approval with the new agency need to be coordinated.
A positive recommendation from the fostering panel does not mean you can move immediately. The agency decision maker makes the approval decision, and the agencies need to coordinate the relevant dates.
In England, your existing approval ends 28 days after your current fostering service receives your written resignation. You cannot be approved by two fostering services at the same time.
Speak to the agency you are transferring to before submitting your formal resignation, particularly if a child is currently placed with you. This helps everyone plan the transition and maintain continuity of care.
